About Us:Beinn an t-Sidhein (photo by Alex Wooler, Inverclyde Ramblers)

The Cumbernauld & Kilsyth Ramblers is a large and active group of The Ramblers, laying on at least one walk every Sunday and a short local walk every Tuesday. We also have a longer, usually car-based walk every second Wednesday. As well as walks we have regular social events. We try to organise walking weekends away about three times a year.

Our walks are as varied as our membership, ranging from Munros to low level rambles. When a demanding mountain walk is on the programme, a low level alternative is always offered.

New walkers are always made most welcome: we invite you to join us for a few walks and see how much you enjoy it! If you are unsure of your fitness level then try a short and easy walk first. If in doubt whether a walk is suitable for you, contact the walk leader in advance.

About Our Walks:

Most Sundays we offer both a higher-level and lower-level walk, although we often have just 'one walk for all'. Travel is by a hired coach - the bus fare is £10 and accompanied children and young people (under 16) travel free. There is no need to book your place on the bus in advance - just turn up and pay the fare. The bus leaves the car park at Fleming House, Tryst Road, Cumbernauld Town Centre at 9:00am. The bus calls first at Craiglinn Roundabout at 8:50am, then Condorrat Cross, the Greenfaulds bus stop on Central Way and then onto the Fleming House car park. more

On Tuesdays we have gentle-paced local walks, lasting usually between two and three hours. We use public transport to get to our start points. They are suitable for a wide range of ages and abilities and are ideal for the new walker. more

Wednesday walks take place every second week and are usually between six and eight miles in length. They are suitable for a wide range of ages and abilities although some fitness is required. We travel by car to the starting point; car sharing is expected (although non-car users are, of course, very welcome!) and transport costs are shared among the occupants of each car. We leave from the Asda car park, near McDonald's, in Cumbernauld Town Centre at 9:30am. more
